Software Installation
Software Installation
Several software packages are available for download by staff free-of-charge. Each package lists its specific expiry date and can be downloaded on up to 2 personal computers. In order to install some software, the Secure Download Manager must already be installed on your computer.
How do I download software from DreamSpark?
Steps to follow

Login to the University of Galway DreamSpark website at: http://nuigalway.onthehub.com/
- From the Students tab, select DreamSpark.
- Choose your desired software from the Downloads list; here we use Microsoft Songsmith as an example.
- Select the Are you eligible? tab for details regarding your eligibility and order limits.
- If you meet the eligibility requirements and wish to proceed, select Add to Cart
- Once finished shopping, proceed to Check Out
- Review the Subscription Agreement, Accept to continue.
- Enter your credentials and your University of Galway email address, then Proceed with Order
- To download your software immediately, select Start Download. Otherwise, you may choose to download the software at a later time using the download link supplied in your Order Receipt, which is emailed to your University of Galway email account.
- Follow the Easy Steps to get your software. If this is your first time downloading software from DreamSpark, you must install the Secure Download Manager.
- Download the .SDX file for your order.
- The Secure Download Manager will open, select Start Download.
- Once complete, select Launch
- Unzip the file to a location of your choice; here Desktop is used for ease.
- Select the Setup icon from your desktop to open the Install Wizard.
- Choose desired install location and permissions, click Next
- Review the License Agreement, click Agree and Next
- Select Next, installation will now begin.
- Installation is now complete, select Close
- Your program should now be listed under All Programs in the Start menu.
