THE -Subject Ranking

In addition to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, THE also publish a broad category of subjects/field of science rankings annually. These rankings are based on data submitted by the field of science in the World Rankings in addition to the citations yielded for each field of science and the academic reputation survey responses conducted by the Times Higher. The eleven broad categories of the field of science/subjects are listed below. The results are published annually following the publication of the world rankings, normally a month later. See the field of science/subject ranking results published in October 2020 here referred to as the 2021 subject Rankings.   

The subject tables employ the same range of 13 performance indicators used in the overall World University Rankings published in 2020, brought together under five theme indicators; teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and income from industry. However, the overall methodology is carefully recalibrated for each subject, with the weightings changed to suit the individual fields. See more about the THE Rankings Subject Methodology here.
