How to Pay Your Tuition Fee
Congratulations on being accepted to NUI Galway! International Students can pay their deposit or tuition fee from their home country in one of two ways:
Option1: PaytoStudy (Recommended for non-EU Students)
Non-European Union (EU) students are strongly advised to pay their tuition fee through the PaytoStudy website
PaytoStudy payments usually take less than 48 hours and the receipt is accepted as proof of payment of tuition fees by the Irish National Immigration Service (INIS) at the point of entry to Ireland.
PaytoStudy also avoids international bank charges and because you pay in your own currency, the University receives the exact amount owed.
Option 2: Bank Transfer
Alternatively, international students can also pay their tuition fee by international bank transfer using the following details:
Bank of Ireland, 43 Eyre Square, Galway
A/C No: 28454143
A/C Name: National University of Ireland, Galway
IBAN: IE43 BOFI 9038 1628 4541 43
Sort Code: 90-38-16
Swift Code: Bof IIE2D
Please ensure you quote you 10 digit application number on all transactions.
Please note however that the processing time and the fee for sending international wire transfers may vary from bank to bank. Please allow for up to 10 working days for processing if paying by bank transfer.
Deposit Policy for International Students
To secure a place at NUI Galway, a deposit is payable at offer-acceptance stage*. This is deducted from your course fees at registration stage, so in effect is a partial-payment of your ultimate course fees. In order to accept and secure your programme place, you must confirm your acceptance and pay a non-refundable deposit via the Postgraduate Applications Centre (PAC) online system.
If you don’t take up the place you initially accepted, then this deposit is not refundable. However, it is refundable in the event that you do not meet the conditions pertaining to your offer (if you were made a conditional offer in the first instance) or if you are refused a visa to travel to Ireland. Please refer to your Offer Letter for further information regarding your deposit.
* With the exception of students undertaking foundation/pathway programmes or who are in receipt of full scholarships.
What is the University Policy on Fee Refunds?
The University accepts no obligation to refund fees once a student has registered, see QA306 Fee Refund Policy and QA307 Student Fee Liability refund policy documents.
However International students who have paid some or part of their fees to the University but are subsequently unsuccessful in their study visa application will be refunded the amount they have paid, less an administrative fee of €190 within 60 days of formal withdrawal. They must provide documentary evidence of visa refusal. The University requires confirmation from the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Servicen(Visa Section) that the visa has been refused.
Students who wish to withdraw must do so officially by contacting the Student Information Desk.
