Central and South American Scholarships
NUI Galway is committed to attracting high calibre students from around the world. To this end, the University offers a range of merit based partial tuition fee waivers to eligible students.
Awards for Central and South American students are valued from €1,000 up to 50% tuition fee waivers for those commencing study at NUI Galway in September 2022.
Eligibility
Undergraduate or Postgraduate Students from Central and South America that have accepted an offer to study at NUI Galway commencing September 2022 will be considered for these awards.
Central and South American Scholarships are available to high-achieving students from Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Scholarship Terms and Conditions 2022/2023
How to Apply
Scholarships applicants are assessed based on academic merit. In addition, applicants will be asked to submit a Personal Scholarship Statement. (500 words maximum) covering the following points:
- Your interest in coming to NUI Galway.
- Why you believe you are a good candidate for this scholarship.
- How will you promote links with NUI Galway, both during your scholarship tenure and as alumni?

Deadline
Round 1: Opened in February; open to all students that have accepted their offer on/before 28th March - round 1 awards close on Thursday 31st March.
Round 2: Opens to all students on Friday 1st April up to Tuesday June 14th. – round 2 awards close on Tuesday June 14th.
Assessment Process
Round 1: Announcements will be made in early April.
Round 2: Announcements will be made in late June.
College of Arts, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies
The College of Art, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies are awarding South American students scholarships valued at €1,000 and €2,000 for those commencing study in their college in September 2022.
The College of Art, Social Sciences, and Celtic Studies are also awarding one Central and South American student a 50% fee wavier valued at up to €8,150 . This 50% fee wavier will be offered to a Postgraduate student.

The College of Business, Public Policy, & Law are awarding several different Student Scholarships ranging from €1,000 up to 50% tuition fee waivers. All applicants who have already accepted their offer from the College of Business, Public Policy, & Law are invited to apply.

The College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences are awarding Central and SouthAmerican Postgraduate students scholarships valued at €2,000 each for those commencing study in their college in September 2022.
