The Centre collaborates with regional, national and international practitioners, policy makes and agencies, including the European Commission and the WHO, on the development and evaluation of health promotion initiatives, in line with international best practice. The Centre plays a strategic role in supporting both national and international capacity building for health promotion research.  To date, the Centre has attracted circa €13 million of external research funding and is currently being approved for designation as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre.
