What is the PIER project?

PIER - Public health Impact of Exposure to antibiotic Resistance in recreational waters - is a 4 year Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funded research project led by Prof Dearbháile Morris at NUI Galway. The PIER Project will investigate if exposure to antibiotic resistant bugs (AR bacteria) in recreational waters affects people's health and well-being.
