Dr. Dara Cannon's research focuses on the biological underpinnings of psychiatric diseases such as mood and anxiety disorders.

Dara uses brain imaging to look at the structure, function, and molecules of the human brain during illness and attempts to understand how these changes relate to illness symptoms and course. This work is carried out by the Clinical Neuroimaging Laboratory which she co-directs with Prof McDonald at NUI Galway. Dara lectures in human anatomy, medical imaging, neuroscience and is associate editor of the journal 'Translational Neuroscience'. Follow her on Twitter @DaraCannon.
