Healthcare

The School of Medicine at NUI Galway is proud to provide an expanding range of blended learning opportunities for health professionals in Ireland and abroad. The course options are eclectic and represent a sample of the various forms of content expertise available on our campus. There are courses that support learner development in terms of research capability, teaching skills as well as clinical knowledge and practice. Some of our courses are almost 100% e-learning and distance education. Others involve more face-to-face learning opportunities. It is our ambition however to move all of our courses for supporting learners at distance. As such we have been early adopters of web conferencing, webinars, video tutorials as well as the more usual discussion boards, blogs and wikis.

Programmes delivered via blended learning within the School of Medicine focus on the area of postgraduate education in general practice and primary care. The programmes are modularised allowing students to register for courses of one module, incrementally building to a Masters or even a PhD, if so desired. All programmes are accredited for CPD by the various professional bodies. The links below contain detailed information about all three areas, which provide an excellent mix of both academic material and hands-on practical skills for prospective students.
