Andrew Ó Baoill
Researcher, Information Systems, NUI Galway
Andrew Ó Baoill is a lecturer in the School of English and Creative Arts at NUIG. His work focuses on the political economy of community and alternative media, and he has ongoing research collaborations with researchers in the UK and USA. He has published on critical pedagogies for media studies, on open science communities, and on sustainability of community media. A former IRC New Foundations award holder, and Illinois Distinguished Fellow, he is a co-chair of the Community Communication and Alternative Media section of IAMCR, and was a founding steering committee member of Media Literacy Ireland.

Ann O’Brien
Researcher, Information Systems, NUI Galway
Dr Ann O’Brien researches online public engagement, her work focuses on discovering online social processes. Aiming to support equality of access to information and decision making in public policy and health services. She has researched the patient feedback platform Care Opinion to examine how a successful platform manages online interaction to create public value and Research Associate on The People’s Trial the HRB-TMRN first public led online randomised trial.
Ann-Marie Creaven
Lecturer in Psychology, University of Limerick
Dr Ann-Marie Creaven is a lecturer in psychology at the University of Limerick. Her research is focused on the psychology of health and well-being and her current projects include an Irish Research Council study of loneliness in young adulthood, and a collaboration with University Hospital Limerick examining how best to support young adults with T1 diabetes. Ann-Marie has a keen interest science communication and regularly discusses health-related topics from a psychological perspective, on RTÉ Radio 1.
Eoin Cullina
Lecturer and Researcher in Science of Science Policy, GMIT
Dr Eoin Cullina is the Head of Research at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT). Eoin previously worked in the Department of Enterprise and Technology as a lecturer and researcher. Having completed a Bachelor of Civil Law at University College Cork, Eoin worked as a lawyer and mediator prior to entering academia. Eoin completed a MSc in Information Systems Management at NUI Galway in 2013. He completed his PhD under scholarship from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) with Lero. Eoin subsequently completed postdoctoral research funded by SFI at the Whitaker Institute, NUI Galway in the area of Science Policy prior to joining GMIT. Eoin has won awards for his research and teaching and has presented his research at leading conferences and workshops around the world.
Ciara Egan
Lecturer in Clinical Neuroscience, NUI Galway
Dr Ciara Egan is a lecturer in Clinical Neuroscience within the School of Psychology at NUIG. Her research focuses on the cognitive neuroscience using electrophysiology and eye-tracking techniques. She is a keen proponent of Open Science, including preregistration and data/script sharing.
Kate Molloy
Learning Technologist, CELT, NUI Galway
Kate Molloy is a Learning Technologist in the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching and is the NUI Galway project lead for the IUA Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning project. Kate implemented the integration of H5P, an interactive authoring platform for creating and sharing OERs, in Blackboard at NUI Galway. Kate works closely with the Enhancing Digital Teaching and Learning team to create and share open resources on digital learning.
Chris Noone
Dr Chris Noone is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at NUI Galway, Ireland. His research focuses on behaviour in relation to health, particularly in the context of health within the LGBT+ community. Chris is a committee member for the European Health Psychology Society Open Science Special Interest Group and an Open Science Catalyst with the Berkley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences. He is also a research associate with Evidence Synthesis Ireland and Cochrane Ireland.
Wei Qi Koh
Wei is a registered occupational therapist with clinical experience working in different health and social care settings. She was a Marie-Curie Fellowship within the DISTINCT (Dementia: Intersectoral Strategy for Training and Innovation Network for Current Technology) consortium, and moved to Ireland in 2019. She is now a PhD candidate in the National University of Ireland Galway. Her project is focused on developing recommendations for the implementation of pet robots for people with dementia, and has strong interest in incorporating open scholarship principles in her project (pre-registrations, preprints, patient and public involvement in research, open access publishing)
Hardy Schwamm
Open Scholarship Librarian, NUI Galway
Hardy is the Open Scholarship Librarian at the National University Ireland Galway. Hardy is interested in how Openness can remove barriers to knowledge and facilitate research collaboration. Hardy works on a number of Open initiatives such as the Irish National Open Research Forum. He is also keen on community building and a supporter of grassroots initiative like the Open Scholarship Community Galway and other initiatives that support the Open agenda.
