Biography

Dr Lorraine Burke is a post-doctoral researcher on the Active* Consent team in the School of Psychology, which leads research into consent attitudes and behaviours, as well as designing and evaluating consent education resources. Lorraine completed an MA, and most recently a PhD, in Health Promotion at NUIG, where her research focused on factors influencing early sexual initiation among adolescents in Ireland. She also holds a BSc in Physiology also from NUIG. She has previously worked as a research assistant on the Irish Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study.

Lorraine’s research interests include child, adolescent and young adult health and health behaviours; sexual health and behaviour; consent education; quantitative, qualitative and participatory research methods.
