Biography

Dr Brendan Dolan is a transdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Lifecourse and Society at University of Galway. His research interests include research impact theory, impact evaluation, scientific leadership, research process dynamics, science advocacy and PPI (Public and Patient Involvement in Research).

Brendan currently divides his time between the PPI Ignite Network @ University of Galway, supporting them to measure the impact of the Network across the University, and the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, working on the ongoing Rethink Ireland Education, Youth, and Children and Youth Funds Social Return On Investment (SROI) Evaluation.

Previously, Brendan worked as Science Advocacy Development Officer, and lead postdoctoral researcher on the Principal Investigator Impact: Research in Medical Devices research program at CÚRAM SFI Centre for Research in Medical Devices. This work followed on from Brendan¿s PhD thesis: Principal Investigator Impact Orientation in Medical Device Public Research.


Research Interests

Brendan's research interests include research impact, impact evaluation frameworks, principal investigator research, applied ecological theory, and research process dynamics.
