Biography

Dr Mrinal Chadha works as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the School of Political Science and Sociology on a What Works programme supported by DFID ‘What Works to Prevent Violence: Economic and Social Costs of Violence against Women and Girls’. 

Dr Mrinal Chadha was awarded a PhD from University College Cork in 2017. He previously graduated with graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Economics from Delhi University and an MA in Economics from Central University of Rajasthan. His principal research interests are in the area of Development Economics and Quantitative Methods. His PhD investigated out of pocket health expenditure in India.

Research Interests

My principal research interest lies in Development Economics and Quantitative Methods. My PhD investigated out of pocket health expenditure in India. During my PhD, I performed advanced quantitative methods on a cross-sectional data which included a weighted logistic regression, a bootstrapped semi-parametric instrumental variable Engel curve model, concentration curve and indices, and decomposition analysis of socio-economic inequality
