Biography

Aoife is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst – Doctoral (BCBA-D) who graduated from NUI Galway with a Masters and PhD in Applied Behaviour Analysis.  She has worked with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for ten years with a specific emphasis on early intervention and positive behaviour support for children and adolescents with Autism.  Aoife completed her PhD research in mainstream educational settings to investigate behavioural fluency and precision teaching as an instructional approach to teach academic skills and socially significant behaviours.  She continues to expand on this research within her role in NUI Galway.  She is a committee member of the Science and Academic Affairs Committee of the Standard Celeration Society (SCS) and a member of several associations in the area of applied behaviour analysis.  Aoife joined the School of Psychology in NUI Galway in October 2014 contributing to the MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis and co-ordinates the Registered Behaviour Technician certificate.
