  • Health Research Charities Reflect On Their Experiences of PPI - Dr. Avril Kennan, CEO of Health Research Charities Ireland (HRCI) has a conversation with five research charities about their experiences of PPI, progression in their work and challenges they've faced.
  • Tailoring PPI Approaches - Children & Young People: Lessons Learned - Jenny Preston, Senior Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Manager in the University of Liverpool discusses the lessons she has learnt throughout her research giving many tips to fellow researchers on involving children and young people in research. 
  • PPI in PhDs - In this session, a panel of PhD candidates and PPI contributors will present their work and discuss the role of PPI in student research. Some of the PPI panels will also be discussing the work from their perspective. Some topics discussed are; research on Spinal Cord repair, adapting PPI to Pre-clinical research, the Financial Costs of Multimorbidity, challenges and benefits of involvement, LGBTI+ youth wellbeing, bringing their experience to the table.
  • PPI Contributor Panel: My Voice Shaping Research - In this session PPI contributors talk about their journey into Public and Patient Involvement, the importance of contribution and being heard within research, how networking between people with various experiences can be so helpfu,; the various ways of being, and much more.
  • Embedding PPI In Research Ethics Structures - Dr Edel Tierney (National Research Officer, TUSLA) and Joe Murphy (PPI Contributor, TUSLA REC Board) talk about Tusla’s efforts to keep child and youth voices at the core of our work programme.
  • Involving Ethnic Minorities In Research - Anna Papyan, graduate of sociology from Yerevan State University, Armenia, gives lots of guidance on how to involve ethnic minorities in our research. This includes; how to reach out to ethnic minorities, how to help them feel comfortable, and the importance of contacting gatekeepers  to get a sense of the community.
