Richard completed his PhD at Dublin City University researching the immunomodulatory effects bovine milk derived proteins have on innate immune cells. His general research interest focuses on the mechanisms by which immunomodulatory proteins influence innate and adaptive immune responses. Richard joined the Molecular Parasitology Laboratory to isolate and characterise helminth derived proteins that can be used as vaccine candidates for helminth infections and/or as therapeutics in the treatment of human inflammatory disorders.
