Meet the Panel
Nicky Logue - Meet Nicky Logue, esteemed hotelier. During his 4 years in Shannon Nicky trained in Ireland, Switzerland, Russia, and the UK. Nicky became General Manager of a 4-star hotel in the UK before he returned to graduate in 1995.Nicky continued to work in the UK for 10 years before retuning to Ireland and has managed 3 hotels in Dublin. For the past 4 years Nicky has managed the 5-star InterContinental Hotel in Ballsbridge.Nicky is a past president of the Irish Hospitality Institute, has served on the board of the Irish Hotels Federation and is currently the Patron of the 3rd year class at Shannon. He was also awarded Hotel Manager of the Year by the IHI.
Anna Hevers - Final Year Student of Shannon College, Junior Grand Prix Chef of the Year 2019, part of the winning Team at the EM CUp Competition 2019. She will talk about how her plans have changed and her recent success on Instagram making delicious meals and recipes for everyone to recreate at home.
Andrew Langford - Lecturer in Food & Beverage Studies at Shannon College, Shannon Colleg Alumni, Irish Expert for Restaurant Service for Worldskills Ireland and Chief Examiner for Ireland Skills. Andrew is a Certified Sommelier and has the priviledge of working in some of the world's more famous 5 star properties in Chicago, London & Dubai.
Keith Carden - Lecturer in Culinary Arts at Shannon College, member of the panel of Chefs of Ireland. Prior to lecturing in Culinary Arts, Keith won many awards a professional Chef including including 'Restaurant Association of Ireland’s ‘Best Seafood Experience in Ireland’ and Georgina Campbell’s ‘Seafood Restaurant of the Year’
Adrian Sylver, Head of Studies, Deputy Head of College & Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. Adrian has built up a considerable reputation for his style of delivery on undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes winning many reaching awards along the way. Adrian will discuss all things business and will outline all the exciting modules that students study as part of the BBS and BComm degrees at Shannon College.
Sarah O'Mahony who graduated from Shannon College in 2011 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in International Hotel Management. Sarah always wanted to travel and during her time as a student in Shannon College she had the opportunity to work in the Beau Rivage Palace in Lausanne, Switzerland and Fitzpatrick’s Hotels in New York City. Sarah now works in the Marketing and Admissions office in Shannon College and would delighted to answer any questions you have about the Shannon Campus and the courses they offer.
Isabella Condon is a year 3 students ambassador studing the BComm in International Hotel Management. Isabella spent her year 2 placament in Cannes in the South of France. Hear all about her experince and also she will speaking about life as a Shannon College student.
