HEA Funding 2021

These modules are available with 90%-100% government funding depending on which category you are eligible to apply under. For those eligible for the 90% funding please see the related cost below.

Performance & Revenue Management (Sept - Nov – 3 Hours per week)

Delivery: on campus but accessible online via recordings for those that can’t come on campus.

The objective of this module is to develop the skills necessary to appraise financial and non-financial performance in a hospitality organisation, along with the ability to devise revenue management strategies to improve an organisation’s performance. The module will look at a number of key areas: the performance information needs of different users, industry wide and organisation specific key performance indicators, interpretation of business accounts, application of performance management models and cost reduction strategies. The area of revenue management will be approached from the viewpoint of the revenue manager who needs to manage this complex activity with the understanding of a systems approach. 

Cost:  Free or €110 to be paid (funding will cover €990)

 

Strategy and Innovation for Hospitality (Sept – Nov 2021)

Delivery: This module will be delivered online. 

The objective of this module is to expose the student a key strategic management frameworks, models, and theories that they can then adapt and apply to the world of business in order to foster innovation. A key task for the student is to understand how strategy is crafted in response to the changing business environment. Students are expected to play an active role in the learning process by engaging with academic literature to further their knowledge of strategy and to improve their organisational awareness.  The overall aim of this module to challenge the student to think differently. 

Cost:Free or  €110 to be paid (funding will cover €990)  

Under this funding scheme, the HEA (Higher Education Authority) has put in place a stipulation with regard to allocation of places. Please ensure you attached all supporting documents to your application. 

Completion of these modules may lead to exemptions toward progression onto the MSc in Business & Hospitality if you decide to enrol at a later date.
