Michelle O'Leary

Michelle O’Leary is a lecturer in the School of Home Economics across a number of programmes including the BAPME in Home Economics, BA in Home Economics and BSc in Nutrition, Food and Business Management. Her primary areas of teaching include food studies, textiles, fashion and design, and family resource management. Michelle is a graduate of St Angela’s College and holds a primarily B.Ed degree in Home Economics and Biology. After graduating she gained experience of teaching at second level and then began lecturing in St Angela’s in 2017.Michelle began her PhD studies in 2019 with the College of Education, NUI Galway. Michelle is currently investigating the nutritional knowledge, dietary intake, and food-related behaviours of students.
Michelle’s research areas include Home Economics; food education; nutrition knowledge; diet quality; dietary assessment; eating behaviour; food-related behaviours and food environments.
