The fee will remain on your record as outstanding and due for payment until such time that it is paid. If you have not yet paid the fee by the time of your graduation you will be unable to graduate with your class.
You may be eligible for a Repeat Exam Fee Waiver. If you meet the criteria for the Financial Aid Funds (i.e. you had a gross household income of less than €44,380 last year or you’ve had a significant, unexpected change in circumstances that has affected your financial plan) then you can apply for a Repeat Exam Fee Waiver.
Students who have received Financial Aid Funding already this year don’t need to apply, as the waiver will be applied automatically, and the Exam Fee will be reversed.
SUSI Special Rate students may apply for a waiver via the Financial Aid Funds. Data protection regulations prevent the University from obtaining SUSI information on individuals – hence we cannot apply an automatic waiver for students who receive SUSI.
Repeat Exam Fee Waivers will be processed until August 11th 2023. For any queries about the Fee Waiver, or to get information on any other financial matters, please contact financialaid@universityofgalway.ie
