Overview
This one-day workshop aims to provide training in integrated Knowledge Translation to members of the Health Behaviour Change Research Group at NUI Galway, our partners within Strategic Planning and Transformation in the Health Services Executive (formerly the Health and Well-being division) and other interested stakeholders. Integrated Knowledge Translation is an approach that seeks to optimise the usefulness and relevance of research by involving those who will use research knowledge from the very beginning of planning process. The workshop will address integrated Knowledge translation in the context of chronic illness prevention, self-management and health behaviour change. The training will be led by an experienced facilitator, Professor Maureen Dobbins from McMaster University, Canada. She holds cross appointments with the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, and the Masters of Science in eHealth program.

Attendees will learn about what integrated Knowledge Translation is, current international best practice, and the importance of integrated Knowledge Translation within Irish healthcare research. National and international speakers will showcase examples of good integrated Knowledge Translation in action. Participants will learn about resources they can use in order to apply integrated Knowledge Translation within their own work and will have the opportunity to feed in to the development of an integrated Knowledge Translation toolkit for researchers, health professionals and policy makers in healthcare research in Ireland. The full schedule is availabe to download HERE: INTeRACT Schedule
