Biography

Fiona Concannon completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at NUI Galway. She received a masters degree in Information Technology also at NUI Galway, and completed her doctorate in Technology Enhanced Learning at the University of Limerick.

Her research to date has included involvement on various projects examining Open Source Software for Education, Open Distance Learning and Virtual Learning Environments, along with carrying out evaluative work on the use of laptops for Primary School Teachers in New Zealand, and exploring asynchronous teaching and learning dialogues.

Her research interests lie in the area of Technology-Enhanced Learning, eLearning, the Learning Sciences, Design Based Research, HCI, Activity Theory and the student learning experience. 

Research Interests

Technology Enhanced Learning, Activity Theory, Learning Theory, Design, HCI, eLearning and all things educational technology related.
