  • Michael Tuite has been appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Theoretical Physics at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies. 
  • Mark Howard delivered an invited talk “A resource theory for quantum computation” at the Irish Mathematical Society September Meeting in MTU/UCC

  • The online Irish Geometry Seminar which Martin Kerin organises has restarted and will run throughout the semester: http://www.maths.nuigalway.ie/~kerin/irishgeomseminar.shtml
  • Declan Bennett had a paper accepted for publication in Scientific Reports

  • Declan gave an oral presentation at the Irish Society for Human Genetics (ISHG) annual conference

  • Rebecca Mahoney gave an oral presentation at ISHG and won the prize for best PhD student presentation

  • Victoria Sánchez Muñoz and Michael McGettrick published a paper in International Game Theory Review in January 2021. The title of it is "Nash Equilibria in certain two-choice multi-player games played on the ladder graph" https://doi.org/10.1142/S0219198920500206
  • In May 2021, Victoria with others around Ireland organised a workshop to start QIreland, which is a local branch of QWorld (https://qworld.net/). This international community aims to popularise quantum technologies across the world. Victoria is currently one of the coordinators of QIreland (https://qworld.net/qireland/)
  • In June 2021 Victoria applied to (online) FameLab Ireland 2021 in the Galway Heat. Here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTSfeUfdt5s&list=PL5CGywsweUHJ7XbZfoODUo0RcVQhVjfHh&index=10 . Victoria won the audience award for the Galway Heat.
  • Victoria gave a talk on the same paper at the 8th European Congress of Mathematics in the Mini-symposium section "Probability - A game theory and its applications". It was on the 24th June 2021.
  • On 27th July 2021, Victoria also gave a talk on the same at the Sheffield SIAM-IMA Conference and won the 3rd prize for posters in the postgraduate category.
