Research & Evaluation Study
The research team at the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre, NUI Galway provides research, evaluation and technical support to Tusla's Development and Mainstreaming Programme for Prevention, Partnership and Family Support (PPFS). Tulsa - the Child and Family Agency began implementing this new and innovative programme of action in 2015, as part of its National Service Delivery Framework, with support from the Atlantic Philanthropies, Ireland. The Programme seeks to transform child and family services in Ireland by embedding prevention and early intervention into the culture and operations of Tusla.

Research Areas
The study examines five research areas and the overall impact of Tusla’s programme on the service orientation towards prevention and Family Support including:
- Meitheal and Child Family Support Networks;
- Parenting Support and Parental Participation;
- Children’s Participation;
- Commissioning;
- Public Awareness;
- Overall Programme Implementation and Outcomes.
Each sub-study has its own specific research questions, methods and outputs. While discrete, the results from the sub-studies will feed into the ongoing overarching analysis of the progress of the Tusla’s overall Programme and its ultimate outcomes.

Programme Stakeholders
The Prevention, Partnership and Family Support Programme is implemented collaboratevily by Tusla and partner organisations. The Programme stakeholders include Tusla - Child and Family Agency; National University of Ireland Galway; the Atlantic Philanthropies, Ireland; Galway University Foundation and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA).
