Report to the UN Human Rights Committee

The Irish Centre of Human Rights has submitted a report to the UN Human Rights Committee to inform its List of Issues Prior to Reporting for Ireland’s next examination. The report focuses on various areas of concern: non-ratification of the OP to the CAT Convention; Direct Provision; Human Rights Protections in Residential Care Contexts; ‘Historical’ Institutional and Adoption-related Abuses; Traveller Housing and Institutional Racism; Undocumented Migrants’ Access to Basic Services to Enjoy the Right to Life in Dignity; Denial of Leave to Enter the State; Human Trafficking; Hate Crime Legislation; Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence; Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities; and Business and Human Rights.
