Welcome to NUI Galway's University of Sanctuary Scholarships....
The University of Sanctuary campaign at NUI Galway aims to increase public awareness of International Protection, migration and Traveller-specific topics across campus, in an effort to address the low levels of participation of underrepresented groups in third-level education. International Protection Applicants, refugees and Irish Travellers are too frequently excluded from participation in education due to inequitable societal barriers, and we feel that through our actions we can make NUI Galway a much more inclusive and equitable campus for all, in an effort to become a designated University of Sanctuary over the coming months...
Welcome to NUI Galway's University of Sanctuary Scholarship Programme
As part of our campaign to become a designated University of Sanctuary over the coming months, NUI Galway is introducing a specific University of Sanctuary Scholarships Programme. Our programme is a merit-based initiative, designed to increase participation at NUI Galway for International Protection Applicants, refugees and and Irish Travellers.
What does the University of Sanctuary Scholarship Programme cover?
Each comprehensive scholarship will cover all applicable fees (the student contribution and levy and tuition) and a stipend based on personal circumstances. Scholarship awards will be renewable for the normal duration of the approved course of study, subject to annual review and the satisfactory academic performance and good standing of the scholarship holder.
