Ruth Kelliher | B Civil Law Student
Work Placement awarded me the opportunity to work with Kennedy Fitzgerald Solicitors, Galway West State Solicitors. I gained significant insight into the Irish criminal justice system through weekly District and Circuit Court attendance. The highlight of my placement was assisting at the Fitzpatrick & anor v An Bord Pleanála hearing when legal history was made when the Supreme Court sat in the Aula Maxima, NUI Galway. Work Placement was, for me, the most beneficial module of my law degree. It was extremely fulfilling and positive and more importantly opened doors for my continued professional development with the firm. I would encourage all students to avail of the placement opportunity.
