Suffolk Law Programme

The School of Law is delighted to offer Final Year BCL and LLB students the opportunity to spend a summer in Boston in a variety of prestigious legal internships. This programme, arranged with our partners in Suffolk University Law School, also gives the students the opportunity to take a professional skills module at Suffolk Law School. Admission to the programme is highly competitive.

What kind of internships are available?

The internships are arranged through Suffolk Law School and, insofar as possible, will try to match students to their legal interests. Students in previous years have held internships at the following places:

  • Suffolk County District Attorney's Office
  • Massachusetts State Appellate Court
  • Massachusetts Secretary of State's Office
  • Probate and Family Court

Funding

There is no guaranteed funding available. Depending upon finances, however, the School of Law will try to contribute to students' travel expenses.

When to apply?

A preliminary meeting of students interested in the Suffolk Internship Programme in the following summer will be arranged in the spring term. An information session will be held at which application information will be distributed. Students will then be advised as to the necessary steps to take.
