Cancer Education
Cancer Seminar Series
The Cancer Seminar Series is a joint University and Saolta education initiative by - and for - clinical, academic and research staff, students, and trainees.
Presenters are invited from the fields of cancer science, survivorship, clinical care, education and innovation, with the aim of encouraging interdisciplinary activities and communication.
Seminars will take place on the first working Monday of the month in the Clinical Science Institute CSI 1031 (Small Lecture Theatre) and online for colleagues across Saolta University hospitals and Medical Academies.
The series is hosted by Dr Michael McCarthy, Consultant Medical Oncologist. CPD credits are applicable for HSE staff. It is not a public seminar series and the seminars are not recorded.

Postgraduate Cancer Education
Undergraduate Cancer Research
Medical students can apply to undertake 6-8 weeks of research as part of an annual summer research programme. The call for applications is issued by the School of Medicine Research Committee.
An annual School of Medicine Undergraduate Research Day takes place in October in the Clinical Science Institute.
There are also opportunities for undergraduate students in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences to do their final year projects with cancer research groups.
