Professor John Laffey is director of the CRDO. He has significant experience in translational and clinical research in the areas of sepsis, acute respiratory failure, perioperative care and regenerative medicine.

The overall role of Emma Deenihan, Head of Clinical R&D Quality and Regulatory Affairs is to provide strategic leadership in developing the quality management system and oversight of clinical research across University of Galway and the Saolta University Healthcare Group (SUHG).

 

 

Aoife McKinley

Aoife McKinley is the CRDO Administrator.  Aoife has a variety of experience having worked across various sectors and industries including Finance and Human Resources.

 

 

 

Mary Carr

Mary Carr is the CRDO Clinical Trial Auditor / Monitor. Mary has worked for many years in various QA roles, primarily within the pharmaceutical industry and recently within the HRB-Clinical Research Facility Galway.

 

 

Patrick Golden

Patrick is responsible for the day to day financial Governance and reporting of the CRDO. This includes reviewing grant applications from a finance perspective, periodic reporting of CRDO activity and putting fit for purpose financial systems in place for the CRDO. 

 

Caroline Kelly

Caroline is the Clinical Research & Development Senior Office Manager responsible for the operational running of the office including management of the online registration and approval system.  She brings extensive knowledge and experience having worked in the field of clinical research conduct for over 20 years
