Collaborations

Locally, we engage with colleagues across all specialties in the SAOLTA University Healthcare Group and its Academic Office. Our work has supported the professional development, and improved delivery of care, across the Acute Medical Unit, Acute Surgical Unit, and across Departments including Psychiatry, Radiology, Haematology and Haemovigilance, Surgery, and Paediatrics. ICAPSS is also fortunate to support education programmes at the Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Education Galway.

Nationally, we work with the Postgraduate Training Bodies to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of graduate training and education for Irish doctors and deliver courses for RCPI and RCSI as well as the HSE’s Sexual Assault Treatment Unit. We have also supported the delivery of simulation-based training within the Royal National Lifeboat Institute.

Members of ICAPSS also work closely with the Health Service Executive’s National Doctors Training and Planning, the Medical Intern Unit, and the Quality Improvement forum.

Our work with industry partners, such as BioInnovative, Aerogen, Medtronic and WhiteSwell, supports the design and testing of medical devices.
