Registered Behaviour Technician Certificate

This certificate programme is designed in line with the Behaviour Analysis Certification Board © requirements to prepare students for accreditation as a Registered Behaviour Technician

About RBT training

RBT training prepares students to directly implement behavioural interventions and to monitor their effects, under the supervision of a behaviour analyst.  The certificate provides teaching in behaviour change procedures applied to practice and it is designed in accordance with the RBT Task List (www.bacb.com/rbt-task-list/).  RBT training develops the following skills: assessment and measurement of behaviour, implementing interventions to teach functional and adaptive skills, implementing interventions for the reduction of behaviours that challenge, professional and ethical practice.  Such training is of particular importance to frontline staff within Positive Behaviour Support settings and teachers within educational settings, but will benefit a wide range of professionals, as well as parents and students seeking to gain expertise in Applied Behaviour Analysis.  Upon completion of the certificate course, students will be in a position to complete the Registered Behaviour Technician Competency Assessment.  This assessment will be provided by NUIG staff subsequent to the completion of the course so that students may progress to attain accreditation from the BACB.  For more information on the RBT credential please see www.bacb.com/rbt/.
