NUI Galway International Student Scholarships 2021

Scholarships for the Academic Year 2021/2022 are now closed.

UPDATE: We have contacted all of the successful and unsuccessful candidates for all scholarships except those who applied for the Government of Ireland Scholarship or the China Claddagh Scholarship.

NUI Galway is committed to attracting high calibre students from around the world. To this end, the University offers a range of merit-based scholarships to students from a number of non-EU countries, in line with our strategic international priorities.

All non-EU taught postgraduate students that have received an offer to study at NUI Galway in September 2021 and have confirmed acceptance of their place via payment of an acceptance deposit will be automatically considered for these awards.

There is no additional application required for these awards and recommendations for awards will be made by programme teams based on merit alone.

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is pleased to issue the 2021 Call under the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships Programme.  Under the initiative 60 scholarships will be provided for one year study at Bachelor, Master or PhD levels to successful candidates who have an offer of a place at an eligible Irish higher education institution.

The offer is open to students from non-EU/EEA countries and is applicable to all fields of study.

Irish Aid Fellowship Training Programme

This is one of the instruments used by Irish Aid to support capacity development in Ireland's programme countries in Africa and Asia.  The FTP involves the award of fellowships to suitably qualified candidates from the target countries to undertake studies usually at postgraduate level in fields such as development studies, rural development, health care and education and other disciplines which are likely to support and enhance the capacity of recipients to contribute to the development effort in their own countries.

Irish Aid’s partner countries are Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique, Lesotho, Palestine, Timor Leste and Vietnam and Malawi.
