Safety Working Group
Safety Committee and Safety Working Group
The University Management Team is the University of Galway Safety Committee. In addition, the Safety Working Group reports to the UMT. The brief of the Safety Working Group is to consider operational, policy and technical issues and is chaired by the Chief Operating Officer who is also the Director of Safety. The main objectives of the UMT (as the Safety Committee) and the Safety Working Group is on behalf of the Governing Authority to "provide an organisational structure which ensures the safety, health and welfare at work of the staff, students and authorised visitors to the University".
