Associated Course Fees
At NUI Galway, there are a number of associated course fees that you may have pay, as well as your basic course fee.
Exam fees
All exam fees are included in your overall course fees, with the exception of Ph.D. exam submission fees and Repeat exam fees.
Re-entry fees for Summer/Autumn 2012/13 repeat examinations are €195, regardless of number of examinations which have to be repeated.
Repeat students
If you are repeating a year of your course, you must pay full fees.
EU Repeat Fees - All Disciplines: €1,600 and can be paid in two moieties, 50% prior at registration and 50% before the 31/01/13.
NON EU Repeat Fees - All Disciplines: €4,000 and can be paid in two moieties,50% at registration and 50% before the 31/01/13.
Late payment penalty
You will be liable for a late payment penalty of €200 if you do not pay the first moiety of your fees by 31st October 2012. You will have to pay a further €200 penalty if the second moiety of fees is not paid by the 31st January 2013.
Late registration penalty
If you have not registered by the correct registration date, you will be liable for a late registration penalty, as well as a late payment penalty. The penalty is €200 and must be paid before your registration can proceed.
Tax relief
The Revenue Commissioners offer tax relief on tuition fees for some third level courses, if you have had to pay the full tuition fees. To be eligible you must be:
- An undergraduate student, on an part-time or full-time course with a duration of at least two years
- A postgraduate student, on a part-time or full-time course with a duration of at least one year.
