Active Bystander Training

On September 27th and 28th 2018, the School of Medicine invited the Active Bystander Training Company to deliver a pilot session of Active Bystander Training for School of Medicine and Saolta University Health Care Group staff. The purpose of Active Bystander Training is to empower staff to challenge unacceptable or inappropriate language or behaviour that they encounter in the workplace or elsewhere, in order to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.

Following this pilot, the CMNHS Equality Budget funded the roll-out of Active Bystander Training to the full College. Uptake within the School of Medicine is critical to ensuring that everyone is on-board with this initiative. Our goal is to train at a minimum 33% of our staff in this toolkit.
